Peinture sur email cru

Painting on raw enamel

Our little earthenware tiles are so precious.

It is a decoration that I was able to recover when I arrived in Desvres, from a former earthenware maker who had stopped his activity.

Its molds used the historical and original decorations traditionally worked here. The Cross of Paris, the 2 typical flower baskets and of course "the Desvres": crossed tile with tulips.

We work on them in turn by painting them by hand, or bathing them in the “Bleu de Desvres” enamel that we designed ourselves. They also look so beautiful in clear email.

It's Céline who is painting these little tiles today which will go wonderfully on your kitchen splashback.
